Epic Games, Inc. today announced its “Epic Citadel” App is now available from the App Store. The app showcases the technical capabilities of Epic’s award-winning Unreal Engine 3 on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. In “Epic Citadel,” players navigate a fictional castle realm using simple controls and the innovative Multi-Touch user interface. “Epic Citadel” also features stunning visuals and special effects, with an environment inspired by “Project Sword,” Epic’s newest game. Epic Games Announce New Game For Apple HandheldsToday at Apple's event in San Francisco Epic Games announced a new game, Project Sword, in the making for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch and iPad. RuneStorm's The Crucible Going Big-TimeThe RuneStorm team have decided to take the big step into retail with their Unreal Tournament 3 modification The Crucible. The finished product will be a more rounded game and should feature more maps, characters, weapons and also a few other features. Anyone familiar with their previous work will understand that polishing it to a professional level won't be much of a stretch. The team is also hinting at a second project in the works and we're definitely looking forward to hearing more about it! Depth Teaser Trailer, Expanding RanksThe Depth team is on the hunt for for an experienced programmer for their UDK game. Borderlands GOTY Adds DLC, Bonus MapThe lid is off the much-anticipated Borderlands Game of the Year edition, which will debut October 12, 2010. 360 and PS3 owners will have to cough up $59.99 retail, while interested PC gamers are on the hook for $49.99. The bonus map, unfortunately, is not of the playable variety but should appeal more towards fans of cartography or just those who hate to stop to ask for directions. Borderlands Game of the Year edition will come with tokens for download of the recently announced add-on pack, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, as well as the three previous best-selling destructive downloadable adventures - the living dead-filled The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, the ultimate video game survival of the fittest test Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, and the utterly fantastic The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. Also included, will be a complete and comprehensive map of the Borderlands territories. BioShock 2: Minerva's Den DLC TrailerMinerva's Den, set for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 on August 31st (and PC at "a later date"), looks to expand the singleplayer narrative of BioShock 2. New weapons and a new plasmid can be utilized to take on an all-new Big Daddy and new, more powerful splicers. Mortal Kombat Interview, Hands-OnGamespot has posted an interview with Ed Boon regarding the back-to-the-roots reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise. Now out of the clutches of bankrupt Midway, the game is headed to the PS3, 360 and quite possibly the PC. Digital Extremes Brings Homefront To PCWelcome back, Digital Extremes, to the Unreal Engine! THQ announces that the Canadian studio will be bringing Kaos Studios' Homefront to the PC in early 2011. Homefront on PC further illustrates THQ’s commitment to PC gamers with additional features and options for multiplayer fans. Monday Night Combat Reviews Are In...Monday Night Combat, the latest XBLA game to be powered by UE3, is bringing in some pretty favorable reviews. Gamespot scores it 8/10 and says that "Clever combat mechanics and diverse soldier classes make this third-person shooter addictive and entertaining" and Giant Bomb sees it as a 4/5 star title, citing that "For $15, there's an awful lot of varied, satisfying multiplayer action in here". Steam Midweek Madness: Borderlands, Cheap!In case you missed the last sale on Borderlands, Steam is at it again! Until Thursday, Borderlands is a mere $10.19 (or $7.65 a piece if you buy a 4-pack) and the DLC is $3.39 for each. With the "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution" add-on just around the corner, now might be the time to pick this one up if you haven't already. New Bulletstorm Screens From GamescomToday we received three gigantor screenshots of Bulletstorm in action, and boy do they look crazy. We have a giant monster-like creature being attacked (Heckaton), some weird zombie looking guys moving in (Burnout), and a tranquil city street with a building toppling over into it. I'm sold (though, to be fair, I already essentially was)! Bulletstorm At GamesConEpic Games' Tanya Jessen was on hand at GamesCon in Germany today to show off the latest on the upcoming Bulletstorm. Spong is offering a gallery of snapshots of the video screen, including a peek at the massive Heckaton, new enemies called Burnouts and a four-barelled pulse shotgun. Ken Levine Talks BioShock InfiniteGamespot talks with Irrational Games mastermind, Ken Levine, regarding the upcoming BioShock Infinite. Mixed in-between questions regarding your character, the game universe and more are bits of footage from the official trailer. Irrational Games Announces Bioshock InfiniteIrrational Games and 2K Games today issued a press release announcing an upcoming installment in the Bioshock series entitled Bioshock Infinite. The game will be released on 360, Ps3 and PC, as the previous two games, however instead of taking place in the familiar underwater city of Rapture, Bioshock Infinite will take place on a floating island in the sky named Columbia. The player assumes the role of former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to the lost city to rescue Elizabeth, a young woman imprisoned there since childhood. He develops a relationship with Elizabeth, augmenting his abilities with hers so the pair may escape from a city that is literally falling from the sky. DeWitt must learn to fight foes in high-speed Sky-Line battles, engage in combat both indoors and amongst the clouds, and harness the power of dozens of new weapons and abilities. Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution Officially AnnouncedGearbox and 2K Games today issued a press release officially announcing the upcoming Borderlands DLC, Claptrap's New Robot Revolution. The DLC will be available this September for $9.99 on PS3, 360 and PC. Claptrap's New Robot Revolution will pit players against the Ninja Assassin Claptrap who has started a robot revolution. The expansion is said to add more than 20 new missions, add another 10 available skill points, and add three more backpack slots. “A year ago Borderlands was an untested brand that through hard work and a lot of passion, turned out to be one of the best-selling, claptastic and skagtacular games we have ever created,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “A year later, we are releasing our fourth DLC installment, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, which illustrates our enthusiasm for creating highly entertaining content that enhances a franchise. In addition to serving as the perfect bookend to the original game, what gamer doesn’t love a kung-fu-wielding Ninja Assassin Claptrap with nunchuck skills?” Full press release in the comments. UE1 Games Now Have DirectX10 RenderersA lot of oldschool Unreal fans may know about the work Chris Dohnal does with his UTGLR Renderers, but a new player has also entered the race. Marijn Kentie has created DirectX10 renderers for Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex, and Rune: Viking Warlord, and the features aren't too shabby either, including stuff like external texture support, bump and parallax mapping, HDR lighting, and more. Details Of Fourth Borderlands DLC LeakedRemember that patch for Borderlands that just hit PC that enabled achievements? Turns out that it also had some details about a fourth, upcoming DLC buried inside the code: The plot revolves around said Interplanetary Ninja Assassin Claptrap, who apparently was created by Hyperion to stop the vault hunters from stealing all the loot. Madness ensues and the super Claptrap starts a revolution and frees his trapped Claptrap brothers and rises up against his creators.
