I really want to set up my own server, and i haven't the first clue towards how to do it. As I wrote in the headline, I do have a router, and I have V2.2.5, unreal gold. If anyone posts any instructions, make sure they are very clear and donit miss a single step. Any information that you need, I'll give.(If I can.)

I think the reading part starts about here http://unreal.epicgames.com/utServers.htm and http://wiki.unrealadmin.org/Ports_%28UT%29
After that using the search funtion at these forums looking for similair questions will get you pretty far te get started :)

Ignore that: buttpirate is right

He's talking about Unreal, not UT.

There's some info in the Wiki, I've never run an Unreal server myself.

I'm sure that with a little research you can find a guide about setting up an unreal server.
And that togehther with this http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm should get you where you want to be.

thats a pretty good guide.. he is a main mod developer for unreal 1... you can download his mutator EDM from his website: www.smartball-unreal.com

Some other good resource sites (for unreal 1) are:

http://portforward.com/ however using virtual server is best because it closes the ports when the program is done, keep port 9833 and 1 to 1056 closed at all times ,forwarding is an good alternate option to.
