I've been hoping not to have to ask this question, but it seems that the zone.com is neglecting UnrealTournament completely. The site has been in severe disrepair for over a month now.

Oh gods of the forum, Can you tell us the whole truth about this ugly development, no matter how much it hurts? :notworthy:

I've heard rumors of Lawsuits, Deception, Competition and the like.

What is the truth, if anyone knows?

Are there any plans for a new ngStats Site?

Maybe an un-official one?

I don't know anything apart from it doesn't work :(

Would be nice to know who the UT2003 stats are gonna be with though I would much prefer a damn good log file system so we can use something like PsychoStats which is how stats should be done IMO :)

Still waiting to hear back from them, but my guess at this point they have hundreds of emails they are ignoring on the subject, lol...

Im just happy someone came up with the local stat fix.

Bummer. Not knowing is the pits.

Don't you think the phenominal success of UT has been due to the WorldStats competition concept?

Can UT-2003 succeed without such a competition forum?

Is the demise of UT.ngWorldStats.com just a way for Epic to obsolete UT-GOTY prior to the introduction of UT-2003?

"What stats are planned for UT2003????" is indeed the question.

Ever since that fuckin Microsoft zone.com took over. :angry2: :wall:
B4 that, everything was all fine.

well, it's operational atm, but down again in what? 1 minute, 10, 1 hour?
This sux, and i liked to watch my tracks.....
Also, when you entered your user name from UT, you could easily go to a toilet and take a dumb and coming back 30 minutes later to find out that it's still searching. In that case youv'e got to remembered your last ranked position and browse manually trough all pages close to your last rank and find yourself
BAH!!

Alrighty, heres what I got back from Zone...

Greetings Zone.com Member,
Thank you for writing the MSN Games by Zone.com.
Currently, NG Stats are unavailable. The developers are aware of this issue and are currently investigating the problem. We apologize for any inconveniences this issue may have caused you.
Thank your for your patience.

ZoneMaster

Fills me full of hope, lol....

Update:

I just checked again, and guess what..... There's a UT.ngWorldStats.com page with the latest games on it.

Of course you still can't access any individual server, player or map stats, but the main pages are there.

One thing that may indicate a counter math overflow is the statistic of "153,722,875,298,185,216 All time Player minutes".

That would be 292 Billion Player years.

This is obviously an unworkable, and erroneous number. If 10000 players played continuously for the last 3 years, all reporting to UT.ngWorldStats.com the total would still only be 15.7 billion Player Minutes.

If the statistics are encountering a primary math overflow, as would now seem likely, then it is possible that the whole database will have to be re-constructed based on undividual user, server and map stats. In fact, some of the per game details for previous games may be irretrievably lost.

This may explain the problem with the Zone.

Perhaps a wipe is in order.

The one thing I love about these tally services, is the way that time is a factor. Of course Ill never be a #1 ranked player. I dont play it enough, and I only started about a year ago. But, if I was to beat the #1 ranked player, I still only get 1 frag for it.

But, methinks it would run better, and make it more competitive if they were to wipe the name server and start over. A nice clean database would make the info come up more quickly. I know people would bitch about it, but then at least they could see where they really stand instead of trying to catch up to someone who has been playing a year before them. But I bet the current leet players would change.
