I have a p3 500mhz box 128 ram and i can easily run a 16 man game. so i just started it tonight and may up the max players. but my question is has anyone did a test on hardware, bandwidth and so forth...cause i was reading about someone having ut2003 server on a p4 and his cpu usage was at 90 to 95%, but I think he had other issues.

I'm running:
Athlon Classic 1400
786 MB PC133
Mandrake 8.2
8 player Bombing Run
CPU cycles: 1.1%
Memory Used: 8%
If you are serving from Linux, you should be just fine with that hardware.

the server i admin is axp1600+768ram+w2kas
running br(12), ctf(10), dm(8), tdm(8), 1v1dm(2), 1v1dm(2)
about 60-80% cpu
50-80megs of ram per server
the other server is p3-666+512ram+w2kas
running br(12), dm(8)
with br full it was about 40-60% both 70-90%
servers are run ut2003.exe+cmds instead of ucc+cmds since i like trayed console
i'd like to know the cpu requirement differences between ucc/ut2003.exe though :)

How fast is your PII? How Much RAM. I was running my PII300 w/ 128 MB RAM using RH Linux and it was a great UT server. Aside from 3GB! extra disk space, I'm wonding if it will handle UT2003?

I couldn't figure how to start the dedicated server from work...so I brought it home.
I set it up on Win2K3 Server on a P2-350 Compaq Desktop Pro. 385 Meg Ram
I played around until I got the ucc command line right and joined on an internal Lan.
It played Awesome to my surprise. No Lag at all. I am on cable and going to test with more players....Work is a 2Meg SDSL , p3 - 733 256 Meg Ram...so It should be okay.
I am going to X my fingers that it can handle 8 Players....

I agree with u there BEya Im not sure the others are measuring their CPU load correctly tbh.

I have noticed on 1 occasion that when ucc.exe starts up the cpu was constantly running at 90 - 100%, I stopped ucc.exe and ran it again and the cpu usage was negligible on my p4 1.5GHz,640Mb RAM, 320gigHD, 100m Connx
