I found the following in the WebAdmin tutorial on this site...

Bots
As most people will be using the stats system we will skip the bot section. As you are unable to select bots while the server is logging stats.

Interesting theory. "Official" stats are more important than Bots, and so most people will not use bots.

So, here's my question- how many server administrators out there agree with this statement?

I've been watching the DeathMatch server list regarding this question, applying the following simple test:

I do a full list with no filters, then I filter for servers that are reporting stats (I.E.: have stats turned on and have no bots).

On average, over five days, the percentage of servers with stats running out of the the full list of all death match servers has been approximately 20%. Or, in other words, 80% of the servers are running without stats- either they haven't turned stats on, or they have elected to activate bots.

I'd like to see some more folks vote here, because I'm starting to sense that the "most servers will run without bots so they can have official stats" statement is flawed.

The main reason this has any importance to me is that understanding this might help Epic think through and prioritize their plans for things like providing unofficial "local" server stats for people who choose to run bots.
