Hello...

Given the differences in the new UT3 server from the UT2004 server pack does anyone have a list of the critical things you need to edit to get a server going?

I have a command line to start my server but I would like to understand a few things:

- How can I enable webadmin? (it was my understanding via the mailing list that webadmin works)
- What files do I need to edit to customize my server?
- Do we know if the UT3 server will run behind a NAT?

I relize that some of this may be covered in the mailing list but I have kind of fallen behind in all of the email threads.

Thanks...

YD

Are you talking Linux-Server or Windows-Server?

-webadmin? Well as far as i know, there hasn´t been any webadmin interface implemented yet into any Serverversion of UT3

-depending on the OS Type you are running, you either have to edit
C:\Documents and Settings\your Username\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config\
or
~\UT3-Serverdirectory\UTGame\Config\

-as far as i have tested it can be run behind a Router on NAT. People just won´t be able to connect to that Server by normal means (i.e. Serverbrowser double-clicking). They have to open the Game manually in the Console by typing "open your.external.ip.here:7777 ?password=xxxxxx"
or preferably by typing "open your.dynamic.dns.name:7777 ?password=xxxxx", if you have a dynamic DNS Service available for your line.

Thus far I think that the new UT3 server pack is a lot harder to work with than prior server packs. UT2003 and UT2004 server packs were fairly straight forward in their set up and configuration. I think all of the stuff in this server pack for PS3 and xbox clutters stuff up.

I hope webadmin will be ready soon. That was always a big advantage that UT server had in my opinion.
