The clan has a server running on Win 2003 Server. A problem I'm having with Mapvote is that although its enabled, and shows in the UI, there's no effect of a vote on the server. The UI seems to be working as expected, a map is shown as selected, but the server simply starts up the default command line map over and over again.

Heres the cmd line:

Anybody got a cure for this, or is it going to have to wait for the patch?

can you post some logs from the console from the time the Mapswitch occurs? maybe there are some error messages that could point to the problem you are having.

I'll try, that's another thing, the log never gets bigger than 16K, so you only see like two map changes, but I haven't seen any errors on the ones I've looked at.

I added this line to the command line startup... don't know if this is why it works but map vote does work fine on my server

I added this line to the command line startup... don't know if this is why it works but map vote does work fine on my server

Is it not switching after the mapvote?

If not, in the TransitionMap=

Ran through the same set of issues you are experiencing and have included the solution (I believe below).... Have posted this in several locations and seems to be helping...

The following setup is allowing me to run Deathmatch with 4 players minimum, map vote enabled AND proper switching of maps after vote. This last part was actually the toughest for me to figure out. Thanks to another individual in another thread for pointing out the actual setting that made that work.

Command line:

The "ServerDescription" is what shows up as the second part of your name in the server browser list. The first part is your actual login account name. The two form the entire named displayed. You can read more info and how to convert your name to what is needed for the description above at:

The UTGame.ini entries above that appear to be the most important to getting things running properly are the "bChangeLevels=true", "bAllowMapVoting=true" and the "GameSpecificMapCycles"... If you set bAllowMapVoting to false it will just cycle through the list of maps that are in your MapCycles list. Some of the entries appear to need the "_Content" while others do not. I have taken the most commonly found set for each gametype that I have seen displayed in other forums and here.

Thanks Scorpion, actually I saw your post over at GS forums first and it worked fine. Duh, 2k4 had a similar line in the .ini, but it came defaulted to true. Somebody on the ded server team just got their wires crossed. Nice spot on your part.:thumbup:
