I found some really good tutorials for UE3, but none of them have a mention of adding music. When I bring up the music browser in UE3.0 it only gives me the option of opening .umx files. Let's pretend for a minute that there are .umx files in UT2003. I try to open one (that i've created in UE2.0) and the editor crashes. I go down to the menu and select "all files" and try to open the .ogg files and I get everyone's favorite general protection fault. Has anyone had success at adding music to a custom map?

This is a known issue that EPIC is currently addressing. Here is a quote from DrSin

Actually, this is a difficult problem to solve. I talked to Jack (who wrote the auto-download stuff) and I'm looking at the code. The problem is that .OGG files are not native Unreal package files so they lack all of the tracking and verification needed to perform auto-download in the system.
We are looking at possible solutions, but don't have one yet. But it's officially on our list of things to try and resolve.

Thanks, I kinda had a feeling it wasn't me.
The best tutorial for map making in UE3.0 I've found is: http://www.planetunreal.com/architectonic/first_level.html
There are a few posted in forums around the ring. If you are new to it, you might want to check out: http://www.kens.net/ It's a UE2.0 tutorial, but everything works and Smeerkat will walk you right through the steps to build your first map with many, many screenshots.

Solution! New problem. You can add music to a custom map in UE3.0 by going into the level properties and expanding the audio tab. There's a line that reads "song". Click on it and add the name of the .ogg file you want to add (without the .ogg). I converted an mp3 and I now listen to Godsmack's "I Stand Alone" in my map. However, the problem is in the server. The server will send the map without the music file. It's playable without it, but it SUCKS! Anyone have any ideas?
