Why not just W@<hidden> so that in the future you don't have to request name changes if your tag changes ;)

uhhmz well ... i cant change my name in profile ...

So is it possible without register new that one of the admins can change it ?!
In know from our Forum ( where also no one can change the name him/herself ) ... but the Admin can do ;)

I imagine that the admins aren't very inclined to change your name when the only thing you are requesting is a new clan tag. Nobody here will care what your tag is, just let it be.

And it's not like everyone is doing it....:confused:
Plus there are tons of names not in use
anymore.
I suggest Admins do there job and remove
old names not being used.

Uh no, you are grossly incorrect. Firstly there is no obligation to anyone, period. Secondly, you speak of this issue like it is a valid and important action. Warlord wanted his old clan tag removed, and quite frankly I doubt that anyone cares enough to feel an 'obligation' for something so trivial. He should be thankful that he got his wish, and you should be thankful that this site is still operating and fulfilling its 'obligation' to you.

Granted it's a tedious task to change a user name and in this case a trivial one.
But it's not like this forum is hopping with new threads or other issues that need attending to.
Anyway, I know nothing of running a forum and from what I've seen this is one
of the better ones out there. Thanks for the forum.
But from an outsider I feel this would be a good time to do some spring cleaning on this forum.
And at the same time do some trivial tasks such as name changing for individuals
that feel it's important.

When a forum member request a name change it's a simple request, i did it too once with no success, i even reported the request to bring it to admin attention, but no reaction. It's bad administration to just let a request go by unnoticed, the least they could do is give a yes or no. Or even better, make a sticky somewhere that namechanges are not possible at these forums. It's not rocket science to change a user name, hell give me admin access and i'll handle all future request lol

Yes seems the admins are to busy with there AC's
I'm running my self a view websites and get all kind of questions
it is my duty to help people otherwise your not a admin
and i got a lot more visitors then you got here ;) and i mean a lot
i got everyday constant from 30 to 100 people constant online 24/7
and once in a while somebody makes a request So do your stuff like normal admins would ;)

I don't know who you speak about when you refer to anger, i am totaly relaxed. There are just some natural admin obligations to fullfill when you decide to run a public forum. If the workload gets to big you should consider expanding the admin or moderator staff, i believe there would be plenty of people here who are able and willing to give a hand with the basics since it's obvious that the admins are putting their efforts towards something else.

It's not "anger" related, it's just a debate on a public debating forum.

That would suck. It would make it hard to keep track of who people are. Also, sometimes the only thing you can remember when searching for stuff is who-wrote-what. If the author changes his name, you dont even have that as a search criteria.

All boards that allow name changes have one or more turds hanging around who change their name every now and then to make people forget about the crap they have written.

yes yes, like all topics there are for and against, but i suggested it as a workarround. I think i remember a hack for vBulletin that made the admin aprove a users namechange before it would take effect, also the possibility of it to only affect new posts made after the namechange.

Something as little as a name change took over a month to make happen.
Plus the 3 or 4 users with opinions might have helped some.
And it's funny, but it's the little things in life that makes us happy.
