Hey Rush. Im sure this thing is great. But I run a web site to monitor and log player IPs in searchable databases on servers (currently for 30 and in the past for another 30 over the last 6 years) that run on the UT99, 2k3, 2k4 engines and even the game Postal (which uses the 2k engine) and I havent investigated this too well yet as this particular server is currently down, but someone switched to your latest superwebadmin and I'm being told that the URL changed to directly bring up the player IP/ban frame.

Well we have to write conditions now on your changes. Please tell me from which version this changed so we can write exception rules for certain versions of SuperWebAdmin vs the rest of the UT world.
Any ideas on a trigger to determine this? Is there a version string somewhere in a page that I can do a lookup on and now we can process 2 pages instead of one, figure out the version on the 1st lookup, then call the appropriate URL to process the player IPs.
I'll know more and be able to poke at this new stuff once this clan server that is running it comes back online.

I was just thinking, you can't check for a version if you don't know where to connect, can't you just try check two links, one with ServerAdmin/ and one without ?

anyone know what the prob can be when u connect to the swa and u get the login box like u should, when I type the correct admin credentials the site just goes: Oops, we can't open the web page you requested ...
If i type it incorrect i just get to re-enter the info and if i press cancel i get "401 Unauthorized". Everything seems like it should except it wont bring me into the swa :<
dont really know what kinda info u would like me pasting here 2 be able 2 helpout, so plz tell me and i will.

If you're using Linux UT 436 please follow the instructions provided for this version in the readme ...
kk ty, all fixed now.. o/ we had been doing one of those steps but they werent added correctly, so after rechecking it we fixed it.
ive got another question about the quickset now tho :)
is it somehow possible 2 make it not 2 set pure, disable pure that is.
Since we run an RA server in the same ini as everything else and we need 2 disable pure for it 2 work.
So would be great if it was possible somehow in the quickset, but i have no idea if it is and how 2 do it :<

Maybe I could add "execute commands" field in QuickSet, but someone would have to confirm first that disabling UTPure from server's console is possible.

ye an execute commands box would be really great!!
it is possible as client anyway with "mutate disablepure", but i have no idea if serverconsole is the same. but i guess u already knew this part so ill shut up now :p

This feature is finished (quicksetting configs), and is coming in ASC 750... however you can only do it from in-game.

Since a few days my server goes all wierd, and is trying to load mutators it shouldn't load.
I checked my serverlog and now trying to exclude errors that may cause this.

im askin just because ive got 2 server.. one with 451b ive installed this stuff and it works fine. But i did exactly the same with my FGS server (440) and its not workin. Well the readme said i must have the listenport different then the normal UWEB port, and it have to be opened in firewall. Well since i dunno the opened ports of FGS.. ive changed the UWEB port to something random, and set the listen port to the port of the UWEB (since it must be opened). But when i try to log in into the SWA it does ask my password but even if i give a pw it opens a blank white page.. i dunno what could be the problem? is the UWEB port must be opened too? does anybody try this with an FGS server?

Rush recompiled that version and simply changed the lines that tells the mod where to hold the configs, I'd imagine. It's not actually editing of the .u, but instead making changes to the source.

I'm not able to get a screenshot of players in the web admin. It says "Could not get screenshot from player Idren (or anyone else)".
I have SendMode=0 in my UTDC.ini. Is that the right setting?

Well, obviously there is a problem with the screenshot code in swa, it sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't ... not sure why is that. In my home environment it works(worked) every time. And what makes it worse is that UTDC allows screenshots only when there are at least 2 players on the server, it just requires to much time to track the problem, at least for now. In about 2 months I can fix anything, be patient.
I have SendMode=0 in my UTDC.ini. Is that the right setting?
If screenshots are being sent to the server then it is ok. :) Should be.

Hi, I don't know if this is a known issue, or it only happens to me,
But when using version 0.97b, and when I try to edit an existing admin
it comes with an error.
How?
Here goes:
I go to SuperAdmin
Click on WebAdmin UserList
I select one of the users and click on edit
Now I change the privilages of this user to lets say ServerModerator (and NOT changing the password, so in this case i leave the both password fields blank)
And click on Apply.
I get the message:
Action canceled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable.
Now, when I go back to this user, and check if the changes where applied, I find that he still has his old privilages.
But.....
When I follow the same steps to edit the user, with the only difference of putting in a password in both fields, it allowes me to change the users rights.
I don't know if this has been addressed before, if not, is it possible to have this fixed. If it's been addressed before, where can I find the sollution?

BTW rush the actor that holds that data didn't seem to spawn correctly in ASC 750. I've fixed that in ASC 751, but until that goes public, an ASC config page won't work correctly.

I found some other "errors". Not sure what it really is but i get a few accessed none messages in my log from superwebadmin:

uhm..
I have a small request for a future release of SWA.
Is it possible so that you can do a trace route to an IP address of one of the players, or view it's location? (like iptocountry thingy?)
If so that would be great.
Just wondering if that's possible.

You mean more detailed location like the city where IP address is from ? Well, sure, no prob, just fund the database. Such detailed databases aren't free, you know.

If you could help me with instructions, then sure, I'll provide you with a database that can hold all the records.
I also was thinking, how is it done with UTStats? Is that done with a funded database?
It's not really neccesary to have it detailed in such a way that it will tell you the city, but more the country where people connect from.
I think it's always nice to see where you get your players from.

Could it be possible for SWA to 'recreate' the UWeb section and load the extra WebApplications from there?
I ask this because I've come across a server where 80 is the ONLY port the host will allow to be open for WebApplications. If/Once installing the most recent SWA, all the other WebApplications become null/void and SWA takes over.
If SWA Connection, Request, Response, Server could handle it's own seperate WebApplication[i] and ApplicationPath[i] sections to put these other WebApplications into to work with SWA on the same port, I think that would be a great thing.
Then for ServerAdmin and other Applications, it would be:
http://serverip:SWAPort -- SWA WebAdmin
http://serverip:SWAPort/WebApp1 -- WebApplication 1
http://serverip:SWAPort/WebApp2 -- WebApplication 2

I've been playing with the UWeb classes and have them commented to see what happens where. I have also created the ServerScroll that I was working with to do the same thing as the SWA...which I have now 'thrown out' because it was to test a hypothesis and more importantly, to learn how that stuff worked.

Dunno, this probably happens when UTDC doesn't answer a mutate command, maybe a mutator chain is broken(there's some bad/broken mutator).

First of all, is it working when you're a player ? And make sure there is more than 1 person on the server. :) If it doesn't work then try removing mutators one by one and try to deduce which one was causing the problem, but if it works as a player then I don't have an idea, I will probably see into this problem when I have more time. UTDC screenshots were causing problems from the beginning ...

Only problem I encounter once in a while is when i take a screenshow from UTDC the server crashes.
I will see if I can find some logs on this error, or I'll just keep pressing the make screenshot button untill it does crash :D and gives me some nice errors :D:D:D

SWA is a good stuff.. you did a great work idd Rush, but since theres a new webserver instead of UWeb, it needs an opened port (different then the UWeb port). And since i have a rented gameserver (FGS) i cant open any ports, so i cant install the newest version of your mod. Is there any way to make it work on FGS too?

I got as far as adding some comments into the SWA Code to see where it was breaking and then some other projects and school kicked in. Sorry about the not replying! I have 1 more project for school and finals on Tuesday and I'll be free to work on UScript again! At that point I'll check out this update to the code you sent me a while ago.

I asked if SWA could replicate what UWeb does for servers that the host only allows for 1 port to be open for webadmin. That way, all the webapplications can be used with the SWA installed...since it is 200x better than that UTServerAdmin that comes with UT...LOL

It adds a Settings page for Matthew's ASC, fixes a bug with UTDC and "uncompatible OS" players crashing a server and last but not least, the things which CPanoplyd mentioned - UWeb emulation.

When it says that "the operation failed" it probably means that either UTDC doesn't reply to mutate commands or just that SWA isn't able to send any mutate commands ... Does it happen everytime and can you use mutate commands in the console ? Ah, and I don't have idea why it could crash like this ..

Hey Rush, do you know why this does this consistently on every server and every PC I try?
I click on SERVER CONSOLE, and leave it on for more then 5 seconds, and I get page connect be displayed. I have to wait about 60 seconds before I can click on anything for it to respond again.
Any ideas? here is a screenshot:

Not really, everything is working perfectly for me, on all three webadmins. However, I am not using IE, and you do(Maxthon is still IE) ... In case it's not IE's fault try connecting to the webadmin from some other browser when it looks blocked in IE.

I have been trying to set up SWA on our fragism linux server and i am pulling out my hair. I had no problems on a windows based turkey server install. I read the readme re the ctest version but i do not have a clue where to do this modification.

The idea of fixing the bug is to rewrite the http connection to through another port, it can be done in several ways like:
* Let's say that 5000 is the ListenPort in SWA and 5001 is the port we will use to connect to the server
1. With stunnel
This is the BEST way imho, it not only fixes the bug but also extremely secures the webadmin, and it's the simplest
way, just add the following stuff to the stunnel.conf
[https]
accept = 5001
connect = 5000
TIMEOUTclose = 0
Now you connect using https://serverip:5001/
2. With xinetd:
To /etc/services add:
UTAdmin 5001/tcp
To /etc/xinetd.conf add:
service UTAdmin
{
port = 5001
socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
wait = no
user = root
log_on_failure += USERID
disable = no
redirect = x.x.x.x 5000
}
Now restart xinetd with command "killall xinetd -HUP".

Rush, we were doing some testing.... And I think we found the issue with the refreshing with the Server Console.
The Server Console Refreshs and then crashes (and you gotta refresh in 20 seconds to get it working) on patches 436 and 440.
But it works very time with 451 !!!!
Any idea why?

The above sollutions apply only if you have root privileges on your server .. if you are a normal user then try sollution 3:
3. With Redir:
Download it and compile: http://www.netsw.org/net/ip/socket/redir/redir-2.2.1.tar.gz
Run with:
/usr/sbin/redir --lport=5001 --cport=5000 --caddr=<IP> &
You connect using http://serverip:5001/
and if you do not even have a simple shell on this server and only ftp then I suggest just switching to 451(www.utpg.org), it's extremely cpu intensive, but if the server is a paid server that's really not your problem, right ? ;)

No, the server never crashes. Just the Webadmin, and only for about 20-30 seconds when Server Console tries to refresh by itself the first time.
And yes, its on all browsers. I have tried on IE 5, 6, and 7, Maxthon, and Firefox.
Any Ideas?

But to be honest I doubt that's cause of the problem you're getting. The error is originating in the TICK function of SWAServer, which is what handles new players on the server. Are you sure you've got the newest SWA test build installed that had a supposed solution to this?

Last night I worked for a while on test4's source and gave a copy to Baiter for trial. If it works I'll go ahead and send you my changes.

I know it's complicated but the timer in the spawnnotify ensures that the PRI isn't still at the default values.
Maybe in your tick function you could just try a larger tick amount to wait. I saw in SWA it was 10 ticks, but BDBMapVote was 20. Heck maybe see what 30 does :P

Hey guys, i tried it many times to get the SWA to work on Explorer... But it only works on Opera?!
Anybody know about this problem?
Pls help, i dont want to get my members all to install opera...
Error description:
In Opera all fileds are active (all Frames)
In Explorer, sometimes left frame, then middle frame doesent show up and bring 404... Realod, the left field is here, but middle and top are not..

Hey Rush, do you know why this does this consistently on every server and every PC I try?
I click on SERVER CONSOLE, and leave it on for more then 5 seconds, and I get page connect be displayed. I have to wait about 60 seconds before I can click on anything for it to respond again.
Any ideas? here is a screenshot:

i had those problems too.With me it was version 436 does not really work well with this.After updating my server to 451 it worked good.

with firefox & "NoScript" you may need to ok the web admin page in NoSrcipt ... i'd had the same problem with noscript and firefox and altho i new there was know exploitations running on the page noscript be leaved there was and blocked the page or that’s what it appeared to be at the time

I again changed the method of detecting new players, let's hope it works. I also added some debug logs to further track the problem is it still exists. I also tested it with one windows and one linux client and they were reconnecting a few times and also the screenshots worked well for the windows client ... Well, pity that my testing never shows any errors. ;-)

we got it running on a linux system(SWA097c-test7)
utdc screenshot works, no server crashes
but
if we want to change the Privileges in WebAdmin UserList we get "The page cannot be displayed", after pressing apply
and the new Privileges are not set
making new user does works
the error in the log

What do you use to compile? Each time I try and compile with log calls I get a "Can't assign Const variables" on line 1124 of the SuperServerAdmin.uc file.
I'm trying to look into why I only access the default URI call in my ServerScroll and get my default ERROR: This page is not found or enabled.
Could it be because I'm making a call to WebRequest/WebResponse and not SWARequest/SWAResponse? I'll try this right now.....LOL

You'll have to remove the CONST from UWeb and recompile it as well FIRST, then do SWA.
I think it's const config string... maybe... at any rate you just remove the const part and leave the rest.

OK! Thanks for your help Matt! I fixed up that UWeb problem and I NEVER would have figured that out.
Now for the problem I was having with the use of the SWA's Extra WebAdmin feature. I could get the Web Admins to load and found that I had to type in the address as: http://serverIP/Webadmin/ I HAD to put the last / in for it to load the pages. Now the real problem. When I would click any update field, it would give me the default case which is Page not found. After A LOT of comments, I figured out that when the Request.URI is returned in the PROCESSPOST of the SWA Connection class, it was returning the CASE Switch variable of /Webadmin/pagename instead of /pagename Therefore, it wasn't seeing that it was looking for pagename in the CASE SWITCH.
So, I changed the code to look like below and all works fine and dandy from what I can tell. I commented what I changed and this is just the sections I changed for simplicity.

So I can see that there's still work for that pseudo UWeb part ... and there's still that mystery crash. Blah, I might have a stupid idea, I will upload a new test version in a few minutes.
/edit: okay, I now checked that pseudo UWeb part and it seems it works good for MvReporter web part, every POST worked, ServerScroll however complained about missing config so I just left it behind ... not enough time you see ...

Changes: changed SuperServerAdmin class to be an Actor, I remember reading somewhere that using pure Objects has some drawbacks, maybe this crash is one of them.

Hi Rush,
As you might have seen here in all those postings i had some post too about what it do wrong and so on.
Well the last version works for me just fine now.
Problems i had was rebooting server by swa something with tickallocators.Its gone.
Oscare=True in utdc and swa also gave problems.Also gone now.
Well its running 2 days now without any crash and with the other swa versions it was like 10 times daily basses ;)
So i am a happy man sofar ;)

When I use the package in 97c-test8, other UWeb applications do not work, if I use the one that I compiled with the changes I made they work fine. I also set up to load the MVReporter that comes with it and it appeared to be working as well. I don't use the MVR so I'm not 100% sure if it's working as it should.
By saying that the ServerScroll was missing a config or something, were you trying to add it into the SWA code like how OPBan and MVR are detected?

Hiya,
I've been using SWA for a while now, but untill recent I've been using it on Linux servers, where it runs flawless (Also happy to see that the accessed none are removed :D Great job!!!)
Now we've received a windows 2003 box and I installed UT on there.
After installing SWA on there and configureing it, i start getting messages on my browser like: page cannot be displayed. (that's in Internet Explorer)
And I keep getting that even if I refresh the page.
I only get to see the top frame. (very mysterious)
On firefox i get the message:
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
And after clicking on the button: try again, it loads that frame without problems.
However when selecting a different option, I get the same issue, which gets solved after clicking on the try again button.
As you can imagine this is very annoying and I'm sort of puzzled to get this error.
I tried with taking the firewall off thinking this could be causing the problem, but no joy.
Any help with this issue would be greatfully apriciated.

And it runs like a v10 engine :)

Yes I have the Same problem with Win3003 Server...
Dont find a solution at this time... only with the "reload" button I got the frames... and it takes 5-10 times to get a window :(

We fixed the issue in the Baiter Server Edition V2.
I dont have a seperate download for it, but if you want, you can extract the files from the server and put them on yours.

Right,
I updated to 440, but the problem remains while running SWA under windows 2003.
Even if I use the normal version of WA that comes with UT I keep getting the same issue.
In the logs nothing weird apears.
I even tried turning off the firewall to see if that was blocking the transfer, but this wasn't the case.
Baiter... this version of UT-Goty you got there, it fixes the problem on win2k3?

I can roger that one....
I just eliminated the same issue on a Windows server running std. 436 web admin by installing 451.
I'd seen this before, but didn't tie it to a Win2k3 vs Win2k server issue.
Good catch.
One further thing is that the issue probably has to do also with the version of Windows that is running the client. It generally didn't happen to XP clients accessing WebAdmin, but did with some Win2k.
At any rate it has nothing to do with SWA.
UPDATE: Oct 17
It looks as if the original source of this problem (in my case) was a base install of a "Server installation" of UT. Even though it identified as 436, the INI didn't have all the usual driver settings and lots of files were not present. There may have been other differences too, I started working on it before I realized.

No, only the AnthChecker can receive updates.
If updates come out for any other version, you will have to download them yourself and install them, or wait until I release a newer version of the server.

Hello all.
I have a question: i run 3 servers on same machine but diferent ports.
I have a separate dir to have mapvote, swa, etc for each one without trouble.
Problem is that i can only connect to one of the servers, 2 others i can only log by regular web admin and even this only allows to edit current and default options with visible problems loading page.
I know i can start multiple servers on same dir but i couldnt find info on diferent mapvote configs and all.
Funny is that mapvote also is working strange...
Can you guys help me? Thanks!

You just woke up a pretty old thread. - Might have been better to start a new one...
Just the same, if you post your server's ini's it should be pretty easy to see what's going on.
Please be sure to remove passwords so you don't get a lot of nuisance traffic.
Edit:
Please include the command lines you use to start each server as well.
BTW- just tested by connecting - Slow redirect for such large files.

What i did was to copy my utserver dir to 2 places so i have 3 installs at same time. This way i expected to b able to control each mapvote, asc, swe specialy.
So i start each server on it´s own dir with ewwach own ini.
Since then i can´t connect to swa even thought i used diferent ports on ini for each server.
It only conects to the first server to b started.
On mapvote my filters stopped working right. i don´t specify any costum game type, i only use list filters like DM-* or CTF-*.
I can post configs of one server if you want, should i post unrealtournament.ini mapvote.ini ?

Ok
What i did was to copy my utserver dir to 2 places so i have 3 installs at same time. This way i expected to b able to control each mapvote, asc, swe specialy.
So i start each server on it´s own dir with ewwach own ini.
Since then i can´t connect to swa even thought i used diferent ports on ini for each server.
It only conects to the first server to b started.
On mapvote my filters stopped working right. i don´t specify any costum game type, i only use list filters like DM-* or CTF-*.
I can post configs of one server if you want, should i post unrealtournament.ini mapvote.ini ?
Ok - I think I'm getting it. Sounds like two seperate issues....
1) can't connect to WebAdmin independently on each server - always get the same server
2) Mapvote misbehaves on some severs.
Lets tackle the WebAdmin issues first.

Just posting for onlookers...
Too much detail for more posts here.
Ini's definitely showed port assignment issues for admins. Will update when more is worked out.
Strategy will probably be to make one work correctly then add another and another till they're all ok.
Then tackle Mapvote issues.
Edit:
BTW - Each server needs a unique SWA port assignment in it's respective SWAconfig.ini

How? I do not see any explanation in the readme. I know there is one mod that use the mutate ali command but with this mod I do not see a way to login via the game console.

If I understand you correct, each user gets his/hers personal account (and level) having a username and password.
You can login with "adminlogin password"

Yes this is correct for the webadmin component. It is possible to do adminlogin but there is no level management. I do not wish to give full admin access this way because it allow a person to get and set variables in the server ini. This can be a danger.

When I do a screenshot in swa that works fine but all I get is a black picture doing a screenshot in game is fine!!

I have another one.....
Why does it shows "Page Not Found" in both IE and Firefox all of a sudden? When I hit the refresh button a couple of times it's ok but mostly even that won't work. Is there perhaps a problem with v440, does UT has to be v451? The port I use is 5000. I allready uploaded the webfiles again because I thought they might be corrupt in some way.

in the past with ut v436 the same display errors :(only first 6 players visible with countryflags, sourcecode from swa in background...)
after update to v451 swa works well, all players with flags now visible, no code from swa.

That's the point. I don't want to run 451 on a windows server because 440 runs smoother with less lag. I wish the swa was more compatible with v440.
Anyway I replaced the code in current_console_log.uhtm for the one Taragon posted but I didn't noticed any difference however pushing the Back button in the browser does work.

That works with SWA? I have to login to the old web admin to get to the hostnameban web admin. Am I missing something? Should it be working with SWA? :confused:
When I use my servers ip:swaport/hostnameban I get an "ERROR: Page not found or enabled."
How do I enable it, if one does exist?
I can login to the hostnameban using the default uweb server and it works just fine, but having it built into SWA would be so much easier/nicer as I wont have to login to two different web servers to control things.

Hmm well SWA > .95 I think there's some place in the INI you can specify the class and URL from where to reach it.

There's a test version of 97c or something that never was fully tested that supports adding them like that Matt. It's in this thread somewhere...I'll look and if I find it, I'll post the link.
