[SOLVED]Server not showing, webadmin is.
 
My Problem is solved.
Server runs on Windows Enterprice Server 2008, wich is basicly VISTA.
The game needed an updated IpServer.u
Found this fix trough google, pointing to a topic here. Took me long time to find it tough.

So anyone trying to run a serrver on a vista based machine and having problems binding the UdpServerQuery, download and overwrite IpServer.u with this file.

Hi. I'm trying to setup an UT99 server on my Windows Enterprice 2007 SP1 machine.

When i start up the server trough the UCC file, it succesfully boots the server. but somehow it aint listed, not on Internet and not even on LAN.

I Use HLSW (hlsw.org) to check the internal and external ips.

Server started but doesnt show on my internal ip (192.168.1.100:7777), and also not on external.

Somehow the webadmin is available trough the external IP, from other computers. So im askin, what did i do wrong, or what may be blocking the game itselve, and allows the webadmin to go global.

Here are my server.ini, and console.
I disabled some of the IpServer.UdpServerUplink deu to binding errors.

What ports are you forwarding on your router? Also remove the ServerPackages=De line, there are two versions of that file floating around. Some clients may receive a File Mismatch error when connecting to your server.

opened the following ports on router...

PORTS: 7777, 8080, 8777, 9777, 27900 TCP & PORTS: 7777, 7778, 7779, 27900 UDP

But its weird that the server doesnt even shot up on LAN.

Delete the serverpack=de now.

It's not binding the query port for whatever reason.

opened all ports needed.

27900 = query port right? somehow it just aint binding it. and i think thats the reason the server doesnt start. but how come it doesnt show up on LAN than, while webadmin is online and saying the server is running.

the query port is usually the server port +1 , so 7778


Ive seen this problem before when the server was running Norton (or Symantec) - removing it was the only way to get it to work

My Problem is solved.
Server runs on Windows Enterprice Server 2008, wich is basicly VISTA.
The game needed an updated IpServer.u
Found this fix trough google, pointing to a topic here. Took me long time to find it tough.

So anyone trying to run a serrver on a vista based machine and having problems binding the UdpServerQuery, download and overwrite IpServer.u with this file.

Note that JAILBREAK mod isn''t compatable with the Vista IpServer.U

it will force clients a IpServer Mismatch, while disabeling Jailbreak from the serverpackages let players join the server with no problems.

Hm, that sounds strange to me, there are quite some IpServer.u versions around and what you say is that Jailbreak would break with lots of them (that would explain the low popularity of (nw) jailbreak though).

I don't know what is exactly fixed in that Vista patch but what about SecureValidate?

dunno about that. and i dont know why jailbreak doesnt work on the ipServer.u

somehow if i remove jailbreak from the servepackages, the server boots, and i can connect normaly from another computer. If i place the jailbreak servepackages, the server loads, and i get the version mismatch..

and unlucky that jailbreak is so low on populairity because its a good gametype tough!

To be honest I can't think of a reason why the IpServer.u should be compared between server and client. It also sounds strange to me that it will try to when you add JailBreak as far as I know you should add it to the serverpackages or it's required by the mod. But then again, why IpServer.u?

Are you sure it's the IpServer.u that is the problem and not one of the JailBreak Packages?

(Sorry for asking the obvious, not that I don't tend to believe you but asking the obvious solved a lot of problem and it would be a pity to have another attempt of reviving JailBreak die before it started.)

I dont kow what caused the problem. But i do know that is occured after i installed the Jailbreak3Gold in UMOD format. And ofc, i am wiling to try to find and solve the problem. Because jailbreak is an gametype that should get more attention.

So what is securevalidate, does it replace IPserver or what does it do.

Again, im willing to try and fix the problem and find out what can be done about it to avoid it in the future, anyone who wants to help me with that?

SecureValidate is an alternative for IpServer.u which fixes some vulnerability IIRC. Based on what I heard aboutthe code of the Vista IpServer.u it probably doesn't work but you can always give it a try.

i tryed the securevalidate, worked ok, but when i set back the ServerPackages for Jailbreak, i still get IPServer Mismatch somehow.. so i think its scripted somewere in the jailbreak mod?
