Problems with UT skins
Hi guys,
I have a UT99 Server hosted in a New Zealand Data Centre & I'm having problems with the Skaarj, Nali & Cow skins. First of all, when people with these skins selected join the server, they do not display, the server forces another skin, usually a male commander or some male skin anyway. When the player is fragged, their skin turns bright green & the type of skin chosen (be it either Skaarj, Nali or Cow is displayed & in a bright green colour, but only when they die). Is there anyway that I can fix the problem, so that the players can choose their skin, be it Skaarj/Nali or Cow & play with them on the server, without them turning bright green? Any help to resolve this long standing, ongoing issue would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks in advance. [NZ]OR@KILL!! |
yes you need to add those skins to your ServerPackages, then they will be supported.
be sure to have the files for the skins on the server too. |
yep, I had this while playing LAN
my friend was invisible untill he died and turned green it's the file called "multimesh" you need in the ServerPacks |
Post youre unrealtournament ini in code tag so we can have a look;)
I think youre use vahandler or not using the bonuspacks corectly. |
Thanks heaps for your help guys & sorry about not replying for a few days, as I have been busy playing UT99
Anyways, I hope my friend kmthor will be able to help me out soon, by posting some code that will hopefully resolve this problem. Thanks again for your help so far, keep the ideas rolling in. Also, the Relics do not display properly, they appear to work, but you cannot actually visualise them, it's all most bizarre. Due to this reason we don't use them currently on the server. |
thanks for the help guys

Anyways, it's all fixed now at long last, I'm really happy with that. Thanks again Kmthor for all your hard work & also thanks to everyone here for their input on these issues. Kind regards, [NZ]OR@KILL!! |
I seem to be having the same problem. Nali War cow skin shows up as a man with a cow face. If he gets a power up that glows, the Nali cow Bottom is is illuminated. It is like the player is wearing 2 skins, one on top of the other. When the player dies, you see the Nali Cow.

Thanks for your quick reply. I am away on a job but will try the fix this weekend. Unreal Tournament is still the greatest game. This is a great site.

This was helpful in 2020!
I haven't run an active UT server since around 2004 but I wanted to set one up. It's been a bit of an adventure finding all the files and getting things configured the way I liked my game server back in the day. Thanks! |
