I find this gun hysterical

Installed it on a server, BUT - I cant get the zoom to work

It does work offline though. Is this a Pure-thingy? Anyone?

I haven't tried the gun yet, but it is most likely because of pure if you are running version 6C or later.
Does it zoom with just the default crosshair showing instead of the scope?

It doesnt zoom at all. Looks like it is trying to, because my normal aiming "dot" disappears.

Lightbulb [UTPureRC7C.UTPure] + zoom

The zooming of any mod weapons ie vsk snipers (and apparrently the bubble gune) is affected by the later versions of pure. i found by changing the pure settings in the UT ini helped so that zoom worked, but i have not yet found out why it disables custom crosshairs that come with the weapons. It seems quite random as when i installed pure v7C for the second time i could see the sniper scopes as they were made to be seen. Either way to enable zoom find [UTPureRC7C.UTPure] in your UT ini file and have TrackFOV=0 also i found that changing the ForceSettingsLevel also made things slightly different at times, hope this helps. I found that with the mod snipers (VSK blast / mac 10 / slayer and the MOD sniper "old glory" ) and the fov at a different setting, they only zoomed to 1.1x

The reason you can't see custom crosshairs in the mod weapons is because PureRC6C and later has protection against some forms of radar and that causes it to disallow modifications to the HUD. The weapon has to have some coding added to allow it to work with Pure.
