UT2003 21.99 on debian

hi,

today i installed debian for the first time, i had red hat before.
i ran a ut2k3 21.86 server on it without problems.
but now on debian i have a big problem. i unzipt the data on it and tried to start the server for a test run.

I'm getting this error:

Couldn't run ucc (ucc-bin). Is UT2003_DATA_PATH set?


where to set this path? i searched with google and in this forum but i didnt find anything.

You're not supposed to run ucc-bin directly... There's a script called just ucc that define's that path, among other things... Use that instead...

is that new in 21.99?

because in the older version it worked fine for me

btw. i started it always with the command:
./ucc server DM-Antalus?game=XGame.XDeathmatch?AdminName=fakerkill ah?AdminPassword=password ini=myserver.ini

The script has been there since release, and the line you just posted means you are using it... I guess the script I was referring you to could be your problem... Could try:

cd /where/i/installed/ut2003/System
./ucc-bin server DM-Antalus?game=XGame.XDeathmatch?AdminName=fakerkill ah?AdminPassword=password ini=myserver.ini

All the script is supposed to do is find your ut2003 install dir, then cd to that dir and run ucc-bin, so perhaps bypassing it as above will work...

You could also try setting UT2003_DATA_PATH="/where/i/installed/ut2003" in your shell config before running ucc...

thats exactly what i was doing. sorry forget to mention that i changed dir to it's install dir
