Players cant move
There are problems that occur with players where they cannot move in certain places in maps, or generally just maps.
At first i thought it was a problem with BT-PlusPlus, which Rush informed me did have a conflict with the GOTY edition second disk. However, upon getting a few clients to test this, by reinstalling the first disk only, also by removeing BTPlusPlus from the server, a problem remains.
Particularly the problems occur on BT maps. BT-Timeless is a prime example as a client will either not be able to move at all, or for a short amount of time (or reconnecting seems to help) but then when the client drops down the first part into some water, they will always completely lose control and cannot move.
Is there any reason for this? Is it a mutator causing a conflict with the clients or is it the clients version that causes a conflict. Perhaps it is the dedicated server i am running?
any thoughts or solutions will be very appreciated, please help!

Tell me, when players don't move, does white text appear in the chat box in the top in place of the usual coloured text ?

it's posted some where around here better how and why this happens
but we used to have this problem all the time ... but only on some maps ... until we uploaded the textures from CD1 over writing the server install textures … then all was fixed for everyone … although you’ll probably find the only ppls having problems are the ppls using compressed textures from CD2 … if it’s the same problem we were having you’ll also find ppls complaining of bent over dead looking models running around the server
any how both problems were fixed once we uploaded those textures from CD1 ..

I dont have the GOTY edition, iv got the original from 99 - but would it work the same way, if i took the textures from the CD and put them in the textures folder of the dedicated server, overwriting the original textures?

i couldn't see why it wouldn't work ... the link below was the thread i got the info from before doing it ... you could or probably should backup the old textures if you feel you may have a problem ... all i did was upload the CD textures as a folder called "textures1" and once all was uploaded rename the original textures folder to "textures-old" and then the uploaded folder to textures
this fixed the dead looking ppls which can be seen on that thread below and client lock ups on only some maps which through us at the time to know what the problem was as it only happened to some and only on some maps

in other words remove CD2 which uses compressed textures and appears to cause the problem for clients ... altho if mike ? the server owner was to use the above fix only one person (the server) would need to do this fixing it for all his clients
to add to that post if your going to backup your “user ini” why not also backup your “ut ini” it would save on losing those favorites
