Default 64 Players

Ok, I know I'll get yelled at, but a clan I know hosts a 64 man (Tactical Ops) server once a year, yes its laggy, but I want to build a 48 man server.

Yes, I have the up/down bandwidth.

I am a level designer, so I will pick 4 "choice" maps to convert the startpoints etc. but my problem is getting it to show as a 48 or 64 player server. I set everything in the ini to be 32 players per team yet it always shows 32 as the total server amount when advertised, now I have seen it show up as 64 players or 48 players for other people servers.

Help, I feel dumb

Try command admin set engine.gameinfo maxplayers 48

if you have nexgen installed it will always set your server to max 32. Nexgen does not recognize any value higher than 32 slots

As far as I know UEngine is not built to handle more than 32 players. Maybe the server is using some special mods?

I have had my server set to 10,000 and 1,000,000 slots....and it works fine

I did have nexgen over riding it to 32 slots though and I had to command it from in game. You can also use Maxplayers=64 in mapvote.

Try setting it to 64 per team... Perhaps?

If you go past 32 slots don't expect many mods (or even the game engine itself) to perform like it should. Throughout all the UScript that shipped with UT Epic assumes a max of 32 players in all arrays. Also any (good) coder would make their arrays max out at 32 as well to save on memory allocation.
