I have come up with a Multi-Redirect Checker concept which could be added somewhere into the appropriate files.
perhaps someone could help...
here's a flowchart I made to reflect this implementation;
if someone could implement this into what-ever file does the checks and redirection. or if you know which file contains the code for the redirect service if you could let us know here.
Iam thinking that it may relate to the following code.
redirectTo info
UT\system\UWeb.u -> WebConnection ->
Code:
function ProcessGet(string S)
{
local int i;
if(Request == None)
CreateResponseObject();
Request.RequestType = Request_GET;
S = Mid(S, 4);
while(Left(S, 1) == " ")
S = Mid(S, 1);
i = InStr(S, " ");
if(i != -1)
S = Left(S, i);
i = InStr(S, "?");
if(i != -1)
{
Request.DecodeFormData(Mid(S, i+1));
S = Left(S, i);
}
Application = WebServer.GetApplication(S, Request.URI);
if(Application != None && Request.URI == "")
{
// Response.Redirect(WebServer.ServerURL$S$"/");
Response.Redirect(S$"/");
Cleanup();
}
else
if(Application == None && Webserver.DefaultApplication != -1)
{
// Response.Redirect(WebServer.ServerURL$Webserver.ApplicationPaths
[Webserver.DefaultApplication]$"/");
Response.Redirect(Webserver.ApplicationPaths[Webserver.DefaultApplication]$"/");
Cleanup();
}

Still down as of tonight?
Gee I'm lucky!
How much storage is [was?] taken up by that server?
Thinking about a mirror.
Note: Actually - the server may be up. There's no DNS entry for www.ut-files.com.
Did somebody forget to re-register the domain? [major case of deja-vu going here]

As far as I can tell it was never down but there are definitely some DNS problems. I still can't reach it through the original hostname but http://64.34.170.212/~uzutfi/ seems to work.

Yeah the DNS server (named) crashed and I was unaware of it. After my smart phone broke on me a week ago, I've been rather lost.

Is there an easy way of taking the content that is hosted on the server and putting them on my home UT game server?

Well guys, I don't think I'm going to continue to foot the bill for all of the game servers anymore. It costs me over $150 a month to keep them running and quite frankly I'm tired of paying for it. I simply do not make enough disposable income anymore so $150+ dollars a month adds up fast.
With that being said, I will probably just drop the dedicated server and move the web site to shared hosting for like $10 per month. I don't think most people in TDN even use the servers anyway, so I don't think anyone will even notice.
While I hate losing my server, since I've done so much work on it; but seeing as how my income is nearly 1/3 of what it used to be and I say 1/3, because it's probably closer to like 1/4 of what I used to make. Basically less than $900 per month. So you can imagine that $150+ really takes a huge chunk out of my disposable income.
The past few weeks I've been making backups of all the data on my server. I've already shut down ut-files.com. Almost done with all those backups and I will delete them off the server. I'm hoping to be able to drop one of my hard drives on the server that is an extra $20 per month to get the server closer to like $140 per month, but in the end I think everything is gonna go.
Just giving you guys a head up that the game servers and teamspeak

I know how he feels. My resources are non-existent compared to what they were in the past. I do feel your pain bro. Please keep in touch.
Another sad event to mark the end of an era.

It is indeed sad but Leroy has paid a lot of money over the years so that others could benefit. He certainly did his part and should be commended for it.

Skillz, as I assume you'll probably swing by here at some point, having had to deal with some panicked folks on this going bye bye...
...were the files you had in UT-Files all on the site or did you have any stored on your home system?
Apparently there's a bunch of folks who didn't keep what they uploaded to you but they still want access to. Might be nice if i could let them know you still have it all... somewhere.

I exchanged emails with him after my post, and he indicated the files were being archived at that time. He also stated his future intent to resurrect UT-Files.com in some manner that would share the cost burden. I take it he had hopes this could be "soon".
I guess it's a "Stay Tuned" kind a thang.
I'm sure he'll stop by here eventually, if he hasn't already.

I'm looking to get all the files from the ut99 redirect if possible. I sent skillz a PM but he hasn't replied yet.
