Thumbs up UTPG Update

UTPG have posted an update on there site with new information on the next patch ....

"Yes, we are still alive and working. Who would have thought getting an MD5 patch across 3 OS's would be easy...

That being said, work continues. The MD5 code for Win has been tested and seems to work great. The latest Linux build is on the way very soon.

The most important piece for all you Mac users out there is a preview release of the brand new Mac OSX client.

Unfortunately, I can't give a timeline as there could be any number of events that could push us back (and don't want to upset you with a false date).

Keep your eyes pealed for new news."

Linux Client also needs serious fixes ... preferences window, render chooser, input bug with dot working only on numpad, deleting unusable options like DirectInput and many many more. One thing I'd like to see there is compatibility with the KDE/Gnome clipboard utility.

LOL, same old digz. You work harder on UT99 than any other admin I know.

Love the game, thanks UTPG for working away on the game, lots of us still love it and appreciate your work.

Cheers-

That's right, UTPG is doing their best and we have to thank them. I only wish to see one day a fully featured(working as good as windows client) using the latest standards(for example ALSA) new UT linux client ....

afaik it simply uses SDL Sound, so it doesn't matter if you use OSS or ALSA

But anyway 3d hardware sound doesn't work ... when I play 1on1 I cannot localize where the player shooting to me stands or where does he respawn ..... very annoying. It also sounds crappy as hell ....

So, anyone found this "preview" yet? Or was that a preview of the Preview of the new client that is to be released in the future?
Heck, Id be just as happy with just a usable OpenGL renderer/driver for UT/OS9 (actually, after being stuck having to use the original/if ever updated "Rave" (ATI/Rage) for the last 4+yrs, Id be happy with anything).
Ryan G. , you the Man, you are our last and only hope. Thanks much for all your personal time you have devoted to helping us out. (as all of UTPG)
