First let me say that I'm new to the whole server bit. My buddy built the server and I'm helping him. I think the server is running. I can see the console, advanced option, etc. We keep getting stuck on the webAdmin portion. We put http:/serverIPaddress/serverAdmin. Where serverIPaddress is our IP. Nothing happens. Any advice?

First of all, try to help yourself.

Did you indicate that you had in fact looked at the Tutorials ? NO

Did you enable Web Admin ?

Which admin are you trying to set up? Basic / Advanced?

Dedicated Server/Listen Server?

Dedicated Server Software/Retail Version?

Can you even get to the webadmin login page?

http:/serverIPaddress/serverAdmin
Did you include the port number or change it from default?

Well is it or not. Maybe that is why you can't connect to the server

THIS WORKS

BTW, cussing will get you nowhere real fast. Maybe banned...............

"Basic Admin System
To enable WebAdmin from the command line (ie. just 1 user name/pass) then add the ?AdminName=XXXX?AdminPassword=XX parameter to your command line.
An example command line would now be:
ONS-Torlan?game=Onslaught.ONSOnslaughtGame?AdminName=m yname?AdminPassword=mypass ini=UT2004.ini log=TypeLogNameHere.log"

This is where I got stuck.

If it wasn't listed earlier in the tutorial, I havn't tried it. Dedicated server. Can't get to the Login Page.

dejo he's just pissed cus you havn't realy read up before trying to achieve your goal.

You really need to study guides online then come back with more detailed info.

Go to :- http://www.unrealadmin.org/modules.p...amp;a rtid=32 for server setup

and you wqill also find the ini file guide useful as it tells you what all the settings do in ut2004.ini - these are the startup parameters for your game
ini guide here:-

http://www.unrealadmin.org/modules.p...amp;a rtid=37

It may look complicated at first but really it isnt - simple rule, touch nothing you don't understand and note down all the changes you make or at least make a backup of the file you are modifying before you change it so you can revert back to previous settings.

Unfortunately noone's released a game where setting up a dedicated is as simple as 1-2-3....not if you want to get it "just right"

Those 2 guides above tell you most of the info you need but to get more help here you really need to follow buttpirate's second post and answer the questions he's put there. Otherwise do you really know what your goal is?

later.
