Default UT2004 Patch v3355 is Officially Released

Since the server owner isnt here atm, is it possible to unzip the changed files on my harddisk and upload/overwrite them to the server? Or does it have to be done from the remote desktop?

its always better to stop the server, upload the files and then start it up again.

Also bear in mind any cheat protection you're running will need to be updated....

Depending on how your environment is set up (what scripts you have for keeping the server alive etc) you may or may not be able to do this without going onto remote desktop

I added the MD5Sum and every member out of my clan who had the new version got kicked. I generated the MD5 by myself, but I was too stupid to know that you have to take the FullMD5Sum instead of the QuickMD5Sum.

aaaaaaaaaal right, my first post. nice to meet people over here. Just apologise for my bad english, it's not my natural langage...
So I'm happy to read that the uberXth patch of UT2004 is out( hopefuly the last one)
Now, i'm wondering about something tho. Does this new patch match with anti tcc 1.18 F or eventualy 1.18 G ? Like if I update my client to 3355, will anti tcc 1.18 f agree that I play on a server set with the 3339 patch ? And if I update my server with the new patch, will anti tcc 1.18 F (or G) still work with this update ?
I remember the last one did'nt match with anti tcc 1.18c so... what with this one ?

I think both AntiTCC and SafeGame will need their class checks updated to be fully functional.
But you can add the new MD5's to AntiTCC as posted here.

Yes, it works. You may only have problems with fullmd5 checks.

Thx for your help, but I will still need it, co's i'm a newbie considering of admin a server .
So, I understand that anti tcc 1.18 f or 1.18 g will match with the new UT2004 patch, except maybe for the MD5 checks. I can resolve the problem by adding some lines (MD5 Database Management) in some ini file. Problem is that I don't know where to add those lines. Is it in the server.ini ? If yes, where in the server.ini, under what part of it ?

You add those lines in your System/UT2004.ini file, under the appropriate AntiTCC header (see the example in the linked post). Don't forget to add it as a ServerActor & ServerPackage. Check the previous release of 1.18c for a good readme

Default MD5 which is correct

After comparing some of the posts that been linked from here or posted here in accordance to what the MD5 hashes should read there is some serious discrepancies in the true MD5 values or how they should read. I have compared 2 from here and they both show similar Checks with different hash values. How can we be sure that what we load into the AntiTCC security is going to be the correct MD5 Check or not? Wormbo is it true that no matter what version we are running of AntiTCC after 1.18C the only new value that needs to be added is this to the the listed thread below? Checks=(FName="UT2004ECEPlayerSkins",MD5=("3b7b4c4 d3e527aa272eec7061848fd68"),MD5Type=0,Optional=Tru e)

One more thing , is this the complete set of MD5's that should be in the AntiTCC1.18g on this post

I already have anti tcc 1.18f added as ServerActor & ServerPackage and it works perfectly with the UT Patch 3339.
So I guess this time, I only have to install the new Patch 3355 and then add the lines (in the linked post) in the UT2004.ini (btw it's server.ini in my server's folder). The rest (actor and package) is already done since i installed anti tcc 1.18 f. Am I right ?

No good answer for that - It's just the checks I run, and posted, ripped from Blacky's post for the 3339 files - it's an example, the main game files. You can check as many or as few files as you like. Or if you run a certain mod you can add them to the list. As for what files may get modified by botters ? Who knows .. not me... I use AntiTCC mainly for the blacklisted files checks. Some protection is better than none. The MD5 checks just ensure that the core files aren't messed with.

The update from AntiTCC118c->d required this addition of MD5s.

Changes 1.18c -> 1.18d (inofficial and unsupported)
---------------------------------------------------
* removed default FullMD5s
* removed MapMD5 check
* broke HelioS Radar 6.1 and many cheats based on HelioS Security Hack
* updated class integrity checks for compatibility with UT2004 v3339

This was done (I'm guessing) so that because it was now unsupported, we end users could update the MD5 files for new Patch Versions ourselves. This is a good thread to read on that subject.

I believe you are just not doing any MD5 checks if you leave your INI as is. I rarely get bad MD5 TCC logs, just the odd one. So how unprotected are you ?? Good question. You still check for blacklisted files. So you have some protection.

Some folks indicate that the Full MD5 checks are now useless ?? As Wormbo isn't updating the class checks for the new versions. I don't know the real answer to that, at least with the MD5 check you know they aren't messing with the files.

(Thanks on the Avatar - sometimes i feel like i'm just banging my head into a wall Admining a server, and for that matter i need extra protection when playing ... i tend to play well for 2-3 games then i loose it and get my arse kicked and play for fun thought it fit my style of play too - "I'm going in !" )
