Okay this is probably a stupid question. Is it possible to run a ut2003 server on a Linux server running on a Sun Ultra? I am running Debain 3 on an Ultra 2. Of course the binary file (ucc-bin) that comes with the ut2003 linux server distro will not run. I think I would need to compile the source code on a Sun. Is anyone out there doing this or is this even possible?

Thanks.
Bryan

The source isn't open, hence I would assume that it's unavailable to be compiled as you suggest... Subscribe and/or post to the [email address] mailing list (the linux ut2003 users group) about this and maybe Ryan Gordon ("The Man" regarding all things alternate OS-related for UT200X at Epic) will let you know the real low-down. Good luck!

Epic has only released a 32-bit x86 version for Linux. It may be compilable on SPARC, however, since so few people are running Linux on SPARC Epic probably doesn't consider it worth maintaining a distribution. There may also be processor-specific optimizations that would prevent it from be portable to other hardware architectures. Regardless of OS, I have only heard of 32-bit and 64-bit x86 versions.
