Hi all,
Well in the post of utdc1.7 i ask for some help on the problem with rebooting servers when people with a mac are logging on.
Some here said to update to 1.8 so i did.
It still does happen and server crashes if they log in with a mac or linux!
So if there is noone with a fix then i just uninstall it and keep just my eut 1_G.
thx anyway.

2 Things:
1) Is your server linux?
2) Don't uninstall it - that's not smart. I assure you the occasional crash is a small price to pay for an anti-cheat which catches some of the best cheats ever made (not to mention EUT won't detect nearly as much as UTDC can).

Neabit, does SWA cause problems with UTDC shots even when you're taking shots from inside the game? Was having problems with UTDC shots on my server last night, and it just dawned on me that my other server that isn't having problems is running an older UWeb version of SWA and the new server has the latest 0.97 release on it...

Everyone that experiences these crashes with UTDC and SWA when a player with an unknown OS joins - answer me this question:
Are you using EUT?

Yeah i don't think that bug was fixed when a mac user joins it crashs my linux server. I was hoping it would be fixed in this release but it isn't. Were the screenshot bugs unders linux fixed? or will that never be fixed... are we going to see fixes for this stuff soon? i don't think i can wait another 2 months for another release. I have alot of mac users that join my server.

i remember it gaves crash with working swa by utdcshots ingame per console.
but i'm only try utdc17b and swa 0.97 at the time. After we find out that utdc + swa = crash my linuxserver by connection linux / mac clients i disable swa and the problems are gone.
Another member (Matze) say also with old swa 0.95 he had no crashproblems.

i think utdc alone had no problem with mac user but swa 0.97 + utdc in use make trouble.

Hi guys!
Ive got a problem too. Ive got UTDC18 on my server and UTPureRC7G. When bDisableTrace is enabled in DC, then i cant hear any hitsounds on the server (tho hitsounds are enabled). If i disable tis function its workin, but its not a solution. I think i have to add some actors to the allowedtrace list in UTDC ini but im not sure which one would do it! Any idea?

Yes i got eut 1_G and i have a windows server.
With 1.7c it was the same problem.
With superwebadmin0.95 ask matze it runs good.
BUT i do not want to downgrade superwebadmin 97.
So therefor i will get it off my server so even mac users can play the game.
Until this bug is fixed.
thx anyway.

No i'm not using EUT... Never have and most likly never will since its not maintained.. The crash with mac users seems totally random... It only happens during mid game if a mac user joins... extremly annoying... the server reboots and the mac user joins fine... Its random like the screenshot bug... I've reported these bugs a number of times... All i get is a theory and i never hear about it again cept from other linux users... or i get this *look* where i don't know i'm talkin about...
I'm currently only running UTDC + SWA + UTPureRC7G + ZPPure on linux
If you need more info please just ask...

I will add UTDC Screenshots as on option in the next SWA release, so that absent minded admins wouldn't be able to hit the "UTDC Shot" switch. The other bug with crashing probably isn't connected to SWA at all ....
btw. I just tested UTDC 1.8 with 2 players on my Linux UT 4.36 server, one was me on a Linux machine and the other was also me but on my WinXP machine(however the nick is set as teleport )
Code:
[UTDCv18] [teleport] Creating screenshot file: ../Logs/[UTDC][PURE] zp_ [es]Clan Server #1.teleport.2006.04.29.22.41.00.tmp
[UTDCv18] [teleport] Finished screenshot file: ../Logs/[UTDC][PURE] zp_ [es]Clan Server #1.teleport.2006.04.29.22.41.00.enc

You mean the bug that crash linux server if linux or mac client connected?
This bug is at the minimum triggert by swa but maybe the reason for this problem is utdc than server crash with swa + utdc and not without swa. SWA 0.97 must any do diffrent to 0.95 if with this version +utdc server don't crash anymore. I know little bit many if but that swa is involved seem's a fact.

it does not with swa 95.
But to say its not swa or connected with swa i dunno.

This is what i get.
Anyway its already gone now from my server. Its not helping if the one says do this the ther says do this and there is no fix for it sofar except of downgrading my swa from 97 to 95.
So yes i think it is a combination of swa and mac/linux users and utdc.
I will follow this topic till there is a fix for it.Till then have fun and frag a lot

This should help! I'm opening the code.
edit: Ok, I forgot to check if some array index isn't -1, though I'm not sure why it might get -1 at all ... so, you will 097c soon
