Default MonsterHunt Server Crash Log

I run the Monster Hunt Mayhem server. My logs have been showing a couple of crashes a day. The crash is not particular to any map but rather 9 out of 10 times it is due to a piece of a frag or wood or stone that seems to stay too long I think. Here are 2 examples. The part I cut out for each consist of the first line of the log that reports the error down to a full shut down. Here they are:

1.

Critical: AActor::TestCanSeeMe
Critical: AActor:layerCanSeeMe
Critical: UObject:rocessEvent
Critical: (WoodFragments MH-Bluff.WoodFragments45, Function Engine.Fragment.Dying.Timer)
Critical: AActor::Tick
Critical: TickAllActors
Critical: ULevel::Tick
Critical: (NetMode=1)
Critical: TickLevel
Critical: UGameEngine::Tick
Critical: UpdateWorld
Critical: UServerCommandlet::Main
Exit: Executing UObject::StaticShutdownAfterError
Exit: Exiting.
Uninitialized: Name subsystem shut down
Uninitialized: Log file closed, 04/13/07 18:35:47

2.

Critical: AActor::TestCanSeeMe
Critical: AActor:layerCanSeeMe
Critical: UObject:rocessEvent
Critical: (Bird1 MH-BirdBrainedResearch.Bird28, Function UnrealShare.Bird1.Dying.Timer)
Critical: AActor::Tick
Critical: TickAllActors
Critical: ULevel::Tick
Critical: (NetMode=1)
Critical: TickLevel
Critical: UGameEngine::Tick
Critical: UpdateWorld
Critical: UServerCommandlet::Main
Exit: Executing UObject::StaticShutdownAfterError
Exit: Exiting.
Uninitialized: Name subsystem shut down
Uninitialized: Log file closed, 04/13/07 15:00:27

As you see in these examples 1 is a wood chip and the other is a dead bird. Please try to explain to me what is happening here and if there is a fix. Thanks!

The error message is too vague. There's something happening with the timer function but it isn't saying what. I'd be tempted to say that it's a ram problem but don't take my word for it.

And that's probably why UTIII was a relative flop. New game, same sh*thead players ^^.

Default Maybe...

Maybe.

The server is a ABIT KT7A version 1.3 mobo. It runs with a XP2100 and has 328mb of Crucial PC133 CAS2 SDRAM. I have gotten low memory errors before on this box but the odd thing is that I have not gotten those errors in several months and this same computer runs my CG server as well which never crashes.

Have you done a thourough check using Memtest86 ? This will tell for sure if there is a problem with the ram or not.

Default No

I have not done that but it is Crucial ram and if ram were the issue, then this would happen to the other server too at some point in which it never does. Both servers run from the same computer. I have run up to 5 from the same PC before and that PC was a Compaq DeskPro 2000 with a Pentium 200. I had no issues then and had only 256mb of crappy ram back then.

If one server works and another doesn't (on the same machine) then it most probably got something to do with the install used.

Default Mod

I think it's one of the mutators I use. This had occurred to me. If I had to guess, I'd bet it is the one I have that counts you down and boots you out if you stand in one spot too long. Here is my mutator list that is active:

Mutator=BIGIZMH002.BIGIZMH002,BodenX2.KeepItClean, KickIdlersV2b.KickIdlers,MapVoteLA13.BDBMapVote

Maybe it's time to change out that one to see. Give me some names of other mods that do the same thing. Thanks all.
