Default Mapvote doesn't work for TDM only, Help please.

HI Everyone,

I have been setting up and renting out servers for years now and never had a problem in the past.

Now for some reason Mapvote doesn't open in TDM if the maps ends as a tie.
The game never ends when one of the two teams scores a frag and mapvote never opens on it's own.

When the game does not end in a tie the server switches to the same map over and over again and mapvote never opens on it's own.

This is happening in multiple servers, but x3dfx does work on our JB server.

I have tried installing a new 440 dedicated server with only Mapvote and no other mods but it still doesn't work.

I have tried Mapvote3.04, MapvoteLa13 and x3dfxMapvote.

When playing DM there is never a problem.

I am very frustrated over this and would love for some one to tell me how to fix it please...

I started the server fresh for a fresh log, then entered the game, waited 2 minutes (was a 2min. time limit) for it to time out at a tie, then i killed myself (so the other team, a bot, should win). this is what i got in the logs.

The error is probably happening somewhere in the last if structure.

On our server, if no one votes, x3dfxmapvote will always chose a tdm map, no matter what.

HI, everyone,

Sorry it took so long to get back, during the week I don't have a lot of time.

I don't understand what am I to do with the code

I have a new server and a new copy of the mapvotes and still have the problem. It is on a few servers. The servers are all on the same machine. Could it be that the problem is the machine some how

I installed the fresh server from a zip file that i've always used and also from an upload of my UT 99 disk. Both times it still fails. All the servers are on a "D" drive. I moved one of the servers to the "C" drive and map vote didn't work at all.

I have a feeling the problem has to be in the computer some where but since I can install and run other games, i can't imagine what the problem can be.

Maybe there is a write protect that won't allow software to change the drive

A little backround on myself, I am an electronic tech that trouble shoots boards to the component level through signal tracing and other means on a daily basis. I've repaired almost anything for the last 10 years and will soon be working on electronic for jets and space shuttles. This is why I am so upset about this problem, I think that since I fix junk every day I should be able to find this problem but still I can not. GRRRR

Thanks for your input everyone, but the problem is still there.

Any more ideas

I see what you mean now. This is how UT behaves in TDM. There is a mut posted here somewhere (I think its called TDMfix or something) that will sort it. Also, EUT_Source has an option for sudden death in TDM, this will end the game when one of the teams score a frag.

Okay, I don't get it. If the server has tdm up, how can it end in a tie? You have it set to unlimited frags and a time limit, or something?

@Tickle I think it has to do with the bCheckOtherGameTie. If this is set to FALSE and the Timelimit hits in TDM, mapvote thinks the game has ended and pops up. If set to TRUE, Mapvote sees the tie and waits until the TDM makes it to the GOALTEAMSCORE.

As far as the MapCycling. Could it be due to the server ini bool of bChangeLevels set to TRUE and not having any maps in a map list? I would think that it would just restart the current map because there are no maps in a maplist.

i tried both bChechOtherGameTie set to True and False...

Still didn't fill the ini and still didn't work...

I have put a 2 minute time limit for testing and I wait till it times out and ensure it ends in a tie. When it ends in a tie I kill myself to see if mapvote will notice the tie being broken and it doesn't seem to know it...
