I've had this problem for about a year now with bots 'running on the spot'. Finally I figured out what the cause is...its a conflict between UTPure and the Sniper Rifle in our case. Its been tested over and over and it always comes down to the gun we use.
I'll be getting our gun re-made from scratch, and this should fix the problem.

I don't think it's PURE at all. I test on my LAN and when I am testing the weapon mutator the bots run in one place and I'm not loading PURE or UTDC.

try to add this little mutator to your rifle script before rebuilding from scrath, I named it HUDmut to my script, it works fine for me:
// This will support Utpure6C and above
class HUDMutator extends Mutator;
var PlayerPawn HUDOwner;
simulated event PostRender( Canvas Canvas )
{
if (HUDOwner != None && HUDOwner.Weapon != None)
{
HUDOwner.Weapon.PostRender(Canvas);
}
}
defaultproperties
{
}
@UTpure> I've caught a few cheaters with this when i was running servers, so it's still functional. And since cheaters stay away from servers where they have to do installs like utdc, then it's a good alternative.

Good to know, thx Jacob!
I know for a fact that Pure has something to do with it. I turn Pure off...problem fixed. Pure ON, problem back..
I'm saying its a fault with the GUN/Pure combination, thats all.
I've been stumped by this for some time now, I just thought I'd post what I found out.

I have the HUDMutator in our rifle as well, I believe it is only there to allow the weapon to draw the scope texture on the HUD.
As for the actual bots running in place, it could be certain spawnpoints, pathnodes, or inventory spots.
EDIT****
I just checked on (ASC)SpecialsPlace2 where a bot was running in place. The spawnpoint it was spawning on was below the surface of the seat by a little bit. This makes the bots feet "spawn" inside the seat and thus they cannot move. Same effect if you the ghost command as admin and use the walk command halfway in a wall or floor.
What maps are you having this problem on? and is it in the same spot all the time?

Reason: Confirmed findings of bad spawnpoint.

...If you'd like to see what I mean by running on the spot, pls feel free to come by SUF server @ 204.14.246.212.
This happens in EVERY map, custom and default.

I have the problem and I'm not loading UTPURE.
As for the SUF server, I was just on the server and didn't see the problem...the bots were running around like normal. What I did see were the rifles spawning on the spawnpoints...something with a giveweapon or defaultweapon set.
I suggest finding a spot that it is happening on a map all the time. Try with PURE and watch that spot, then try without PURE on that spot as well. I'm going to go onto your server again and switch through some maps and look to see where it's happening as well.
EDIT**
OK I see the problem now. It's all well and good as long as the bots see a target, but until then they are "stuck." I'll look at the rifle code for you....and figure out why the rifles are coming up when a player spawns and collecting at the spawnpoints.

Yep, thx for taking the time to have a look.
I've since talked to [ ]\/\/@£k|\|Bµ££§€¥€ (he made rifle for us) and he's explained what the problem is, and is fixing the rifle code.
I'll let u know what happens after that!
