When using the demo client I keep getting 'Downloading not allowed' when trying to connect to my v2225 ut2003 dedicated server (free download).

I saw the post about the retail server version disallowing this. Is this also true for the freely available server as well or is a configuration issue on my end?

Thanks for any help.

If I remember right, the demo can only play demo maps. So, when you connect to a full server, it sees it needs a new map but can't download it. I also think that you can't just install extra maps manually, there are other differences that make this not work.

If you think about it, why would Epic let the demo software behave like the full version. Who would buy the full version then? (And how would they get money?)

The free server is crippled to only be a server and adds to the number of sites that full version software can play. That make economic sense because the more places to play, the more players, and...
