Looking for a mutator - team damage
There is there a setting or mutator for UT2k4 for team/self damage?
I remember one for UT where if you shot a team mate, you could set the amount of damage they recieved, and the amount you recieved for shooting a team mate.

I think that might be done with Friendly Fire Scale.
In WebAdmin > Defaults > Game > Friendly Fire Scale (0.0 - 1.0)
Though, I don't think this affects the shooter.

Yeah, tried that but your right, it only effects the person being shot.
I am having problems with players "trying" to kill thier team mates.
I figured if it hurt them instead, it would put a stop to it.
I know I had this for the original UT and it worked great.

DamageReflection for team games
Hi,
I made a "lite"-version of my mutator LamerBuster for UT2004, that deals only with team-killing.
Features- Simple, "Call of Duty"-style damage reflection mutator for UT 2004.
- This mutator deals with team-killers in the way, that the damage the team-killer attempts to commit to his team mate is reflected back to himself.
Works with:- DeathMatch: No (of course)
- TeamDeathMatch: Yes
- CaptureTheFlag: Yes
- Onslaught: Yes, but when in vehicle, damage committed to vehicle, not to player ...
- DoubleDomination: Yes
- BombingRun: Yes
- Assault: Not tested yet

All good but let's say in an instagib match. There is a huge crowd of players and one teamate shoots another by accident. What then?

Bad markmanship, he takes the damage I hope.
That's one of the reasons I want something like this.
To make the players hone thier skills instead of just firing wildly in to a crowd.
Help to get rid of the team killers and increase the skills of the good players.
What more could you ask?

Ok, Instagib is a special gametype. Though, I just tested it with the following settings:
FriendlyFire: 0.1 (UT2004 setting)
TransferScaling: 0.5 (DamageReflection mutator setting)
Guess what? Everytime I shot a team mate, the health of the shooter (me) and the team mate was reduced by 50. This will give the team mate and the shooter a second chance
Allthough I don't coded this mutator for instagib, it works, BUT:
THE MUTATOR IS NOT DESIGNED FOR INSTAGIB! IT WILL SPAM A LOT OF "ACCESS NONE" ERRORS TO YOUR SERVER INI-FILE, SO PLEASE DON'T USE IT IN INSTAGIB MATCHES.
I'll get rid of this next year.

Hmmm this looks like a good addition to my Invasion servers... nice Idea ShiningSquirrel. Oh, and thanks for your suggestions on using SSWeapons. THat works great for INV, and has fixed a couple weapons problems I was having, mainly with the Zark rifle.

I installed this on my invasion server last night. The players loved it. It even works with RPG, you just have to tweak the damage settings a little.

I am using it on an invasion server and just started getting these errors:

Is this releated to the instagib problem?

!!! Argh !!!
I made a n00b error in version v1.01, it calls a class, which is in the original package, so you don't see an error if the old version is still on the server, but if you remove the original package an error will occur. I fixed that in a complete new package. It works, I promise!
