Hello. I have been banned for alledgedly having an illegal file - opengl32.dll - in my UT systen folder.
I can explain why this has happened - I have just installed a new vid card and was having trouble with artifacts and lines when running a D3D game such as UT2K4 ... so I tried installing an openGL driver I downloaded from the net to see if that solved the problem .. and one of the opengl files has obviously been mistaken as a cheat file - WHICH IT MOST DEFINITELY ISN'T!
I have found the correct driver now and all is functioning correctly, and I did mention to some of my fellow clan members that I had seen an illegal file warning flash up the first time I logged onto the server.
I have now removed all opengl driver files from my UT2K4 system folder to be on the safe side and reinstalled my UT from fresh.
I have been a member of FU2 since 2003 and I have ALWAYS abided by the rules and I cannot abide cheating. So to be labelled as a cheat by another clan I find very upsetting.
I can understand why the software might have identified the filename as a known banned file, but the simple fact is I was just trying an opengl graphics driver. Opengl32.dll is a graphics driver file - it just seems someone has managed to create a fake version with a cheat - but I really didn't have the alledged illegal file installed.
I am confident any member of FU2 will vouch for me and confirm my status as a genuine clan member with integrity.

So was this persons appeal accepted? I have a clan member in my clan that just installed a new video card as well as just reinstalled UT and she was testing different video settings and she was caught with the same file. I just need to know if this scenerio is possible as I would hate to boot this person over a misunderstanding.

No one has replied to me yet.
The site which I downloaded the OpenGL drivers from - I forget where now - said I should install the driver into my game folder, not the system32 folder .. so I just followed the insructions. I wasn't to know that a banned file had the same name. I am really fed up about this, and the clan that banned me are really not prepared to listen to my appeal and say I must appeal here.
I have just spen a lot of money upgrading my PC just to play UT2k4 and now I'm really disheartened and feel like giving up. It took me nearly 2 weeks to find a solution to my video problem and now it seems like it was all for nothing

well I am hoping that someone will reply but unfortunately everything I have looked at regarding this opengl file is pointing to some sort of hack

One of the posts says put the files in the system folder, which is what I did. I was just trying to get my game working!!! I am so angry with this now!

As a server Admin, there is no way for me to know what file AntiTcc
found or your system, the "Hack one" or the "Legit" one.

One thing is for sure, on my server or any server, you get kick because
AntiTcc found a Blacklisted file and you will end up banned, guilty or not.

Since there is a 50% chance due to the link you provide that the file
in question could be a "legit" file, I will change the permanent ban
to a 30 days suspension from the servers.

Please, delete the file in question and make sure you dont add unnecessary
files to your System folder in the future, situations like this could be
prevented if people are careful with the use of third party drivers or cache
extractors.
