Default Server Name

I am having issues getting my server to use the Server Name I want

I even added it in the command Line and it didnt seam to work.

I used ?ServerDescription="Name of the Server"

But it still defaults to my GamespyID

Any suggestions?

The serverdescription-commandline-command use a strange encode. Use some command line generator like this one to have the right name encoded.

remove the discription tag completly

open the utgame.ini

[Engine.GameReplicationInfo]
ServerName=
ShortName=UT3 Server
MessageOfTheDay=Welcome to a UT3 Server!


and enter the Servername

I had read that somewhere before but I dont seam to have one. Where is it located?

Maybe Im missing it.

The File Structure is comletly different from 2003 and 2004

The ini are in \My documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config

If you use the -nohomedir option in the commandline, it takes them from \Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config

ok looks like I got it to work. I had to copy the DefaultGame.ini and make it a UTGame.ini

Remeber this is linux and its case sensetive.


Thanks for the help. Thou not one person had the right answer the collective info sent me to the right direction. Thx again guys.

In Linux UT*.ini files live in ~/.Unreal Tournament 3/UTGame/Config/

Well again that isnt a 100% thing

if you have the -nohomedir tag in you command line the file would be located where you have the game installed
