Annoying...
Is having to type in
www.unrealadmin.org instead of just unrealadmin.org to come here.
You guys should fix that. unrealadmin.org should resolve to www.unrealadmin.org, pressing those 4 extra characters is really wearing me out.

if you run M$ Explorer just hit ctrl+D and you'll be amazed how easy you can go here by just 3 clicks.
click 1: open Explorer
click 2: open favorites
click 3: choose UnrealAdmin.org

I am running Slax 6. It's a Linux Live CD that uses Knoqueror as the web browser, not that M$ crap.
Not to mention I can type unrealdmin.org faster than I can click three items on a screen.

Get a decent browser and you should be able to type "unreala" to get a list of URLs from your favorite UT server-related site. Opera 9 or Firefox 3, for example.

That's because Firefox autoamtically prepends www. if the url it's given goes 404. As a side note it also automatically adds .com if you forget the tld.

Solution----> get over it because it's not going to happen.
It's the same answer they gave me when I wanted to change my user name.

Meh, I don't really care what happens I can get around it on my own. As for the solutions, that's not a solution when it's simple, from a web master stand point, to make it work server side. It SHOULD be done like that to begin with, something is obviously wrong and if the UA admins want to fix it, then let them. I just assumed they wasn't aware of the issue, since I've never had to worry about it. When my harddrive was working and I was using FF3, half way into typing unrealadmin it would be in the drop down list, and I'd just press down once then enter, and it'll bring me here.
Runnning a Linux Live CD, nothing you do is saved unless you edit the CD itself and/or have some kind of location to store files. In my case, I was using it because my harddrive had failed on me, so everytime I shut down (every night) I lost everything that I had done.
Fact of the matter is.
unrealadmin.org
www.unrealadmin.org
http://www.unealadmin.org
http://unrealadmin.org
should all resolve. It's simple practice.

I have no control how my web sites are accessed. The host determines if the leading www has to be used. It's not on any of my sites.

It's in your DNS settings.

Apparently, I don't have access to my DNS settings. It really doesn't matter because I can access my sites either way... I don't find it in cPanel

The day that site can follow web coding best practises is the day it can then start asking people to follow its own best practises:
