I get some UTDC error with Windows 98 (which I'm using to play UT). It crashes with Win98, and Does NOT crash with XP on the same computer. What's the problem ? And don't say I should switch to XP - it should be playable on all OS's, Win98, 2000, etc. included !

Perhaps the error message would help track down the problem, post the last 40 or so lines of your logfile when that happens.

Donvan: Negative. Guy's probably using an AMD processor that has a wonky energy saver mode. If anything, it's likely harming his game, not helping it.
If you know the guy, may want to tell him to get 4.51b update too - v4.51a has its own set of problems.

For some reason if its mid game... the server crashs from users with incompatable OS's but only if its like mid game or something kind of like how the screenshot bug is.... u can take a screenshot at the beginning of a game... but if you do it mid game the server crashs... I know its caused by UTDC cause i've watched it happen twice now through the reporter channel...

Funny. SWA doesn't do anything with UTDC until you press the screenshot button.

Thats not 100 % Correct.
I had with SWA07b every day 2 - 3 crashes the day. It was only when a linux or Mac Player joined the Server but not everytime. Maybe before the match starts or the match has ended.
After i downgraded to SWA095 the Problem was solved.

Well, I'm looking at the code at the moment and I cannot find anything hazardous ...

@ Rush maybe your right but how matze said server crash only by joining mac or linux user. Therefore it seems that utdc is involved but it could also be that this problem exist without utdc. I don't report this bug because i'm not using normal UT and therefore in don't know / sure if the trigger for this problem is my used mod.
@ Matze that is interesting that SWA095 don't had this problem.
crashlogs always the same by me
