Default utdc 2.1 crashes most of us out!

As far as I can tell the problem is with UTDC 2.1 only. Most of us with multicore processors have the game crash repeatedly, both XP and Vista, no matter how we load or run this version. The install seems to work fine, UTDC doesn't boot us off the server BUT the game crashes out after about 30 seconds on every server I've tried running 2.1. So the problem seems to be that UTDC 2.1 is incompatible with the GAME UT GOTY. Most likely there is some subroutine that is only used by multicore processors within the game itself that is buggy with UTDC on. I don't know; but as of right now most of our clan can not get the UT GOTY program to not crash on any server running UTDC 2.1

Have you tried playing with one core only? It works just fine for a clanmate of mine.

Yo, it's happened to me, but after half an hour it worked fine, like there was no problem with it.

I got a print screen of what it did do:

clear the cache from ut.
delete all cachexxx.tmp files in the ut-folder.
delete all utdc files in the ut-system-folder and reload utdc again.

Hey, I get the same problem. And I am on a single core system (PIII) with XP 32 bit
Here are the details and screenshot-:
PC Details
PIII + Geforce FX5500
Using OpenGL renderer UTGLR (v3.4 IIRC)
Settings that I changed are 'Configured Netspeed=2600'

Screenshot

I Have done the following -:
Cleared Cache,temp files
Reinstalled UTDC v 2.1

One thing I noted is that it barely happens when logging on empty servers
This has never happened with any previous UTDC release. I am really scared considering this is the final ('bug-free' ) release

Did you update to 4.51?

I have UT GOTY updated first to 4.36 and then to 4.51, same on two different computers:
- desktop with Intel Core 2 Duo, Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bits;
- laptop with AMD Turion, Windows XP SP2 32-bits;

Both work fine on any UTDC21-enabled server.

Try updating to 4.51, my 2 cents.

Thanks mate, that seems to have fixed the problem, although I am still waiting for the crash to happen since I got 451b

EDIT: CRASHED AGAIN ;(

I didn't even know that a b subversion of 4.51 patch had been released.
Imo just revert to 4.51 without b.

Exclamation

I notice tick<- in the errors , havign a server myself I have increased the tick rate to 60 , could this be the cause..?

but like everyone else , Mine crashes also... and apart from forcing people to download some 10mb's of mods n other crap the last thing they want is to be kicked after playing for 10secs at a time.

it seems to be a development issue as far as I can tell , that may/not be addressed anytime soon.... is there a utdc2.0 version that has a good actionman.ini available?

Regards

Wises.

I posted this in another thread:
http://www.unrealadmin.org/forums/sh...ad.php?t=27510

But I guess that thread is for "error on line 1337."

This thread seems to address the same error I'm having. Any fix yet?

I've been able to play if I go into our MOC server first (where it doesn't crash me and we are running 2.1), then go into the the other UTDC2.1 sever (C1 server) where it does crash me.

Angry same thing

here's the screenie, but i dont think it'll help much. but i've got an idea. there's a server (Bryansk ut99.bks-tv.ru) with utdc 21, but it doesnt crash me. some other servers (MiPT 194.85.80.86:8888 for example) do nearly always crash me. (that wasnt an advertisement of servers, it's for being strict in my examples). the difference between them is that Bryansk server doesnt use asc, but MiPT uses asc760. i've read the log and noticed that asc gives those 'accessed none's before UTDC crashes. btw, those crashes come up exactly when UTDC client check takes place and only for players. spectators dont crash. please check this and confirm or disprove...

dialup, netspeed 2600, ogl34/d3d9, 800x600x16.

Same problem here on all UTDC v2.1 servers
Quadcore @ Windows 7 64 bit

I runned UT in XP SP3 compatible mode and as administrator, no luck
Anyone have a workaround for this annoying error?

You may need to set the processor affinity to a single core.

There's a utility called imagecfg.exe that was part of the Win2K and Win2k3 server utilities that would help. If you can find the Win2k server resource kit or Win2k3 resource kit, it'll be on there.

It can set an executable to run off specific cores/processors in a multicore/multiprocessor system.

utdc crash 0000 is ALWAYS caused by the netspeed. Increase it to at least 10000 (or 15000 if you run a server with a lot of players (16+)). Once you get past the initialization you can lower it back to your normal netspeed if you think that's neccessary.

few players telled me when try to enter on the server got "Connection Failed" after 2 or 3 conection they can enter on the server, or they got the same "Error Window" like on the top.

maybe its the same thing:

So you mean we need to change this line on the UT.ini Server:

[Engine.Player]
ConfiguredInternetSpeed=5000 ---> replace to 10000
ConfiguredLanSpeed=20000

its that exact ??

The client need to change his Net Speed to or not??

ty in advance.

you need to change your own netspeed, on your client pc.

the server admin could change the MinClientRate to a higher number (10k?) though Im not sure ppl would like the admin changing their netspeed - I think it should stop the netspeed related crashes
